I write best in short stories, thrilling vignettes and absolute truths.

I always been encouraged to write. My instructors encouraged me, my friends asked for personalized poetry and I would journal to write down what I dare not say.

I sought out to learn my craft. I wanted to become a professional & proficient writer.
Most people don’t realize you can’t pick up a pen and write anymore than you can pick up a brush and paint. Well you can, but make sure it’s for personal use. To speak to your reader, you must train your writers voice.

I found Nora Profit, Director of The Writing Loft. I studied with Nora in private sessions, writers boot camp, and with The Writing Loft community at lovely mountain retreats. I learned how to make people feel something when I write. I learned the elements of story telling.
She taught me to respect the readers participation in my story. Most importantly, by crafting vivid and alive sentences. I created pictures for my readers eye to see. Rather than tell them what to think with my words. We worked on a magical piece that Nora loves. But I have not been able to give my “Sophia” to the world yet.

Iʼm very proud to have contributed one of my most powerful and transformational stories to Marsh Engleʼs Book, “Amazing Woman, Whatʼs Your Story?” Several beautiful women and I participated in a Marsh Engle coaching & writing program, which resulted in my first published story.

The experience was awesome for me. During the course we were asked to think of our most transformational story to share.

My story was life changing, painful and remained very private for many years. The process of deciding to share this story gave me an unexpected growth spirit. I felt powerful and lightened once I decided to let go. I had the opportunity to be coached through the written delivery of my most painful story. At the other end, there was healing.
I also experiened an unexpected sense of diving from a new and heightened board. I felt cleaned and refreshed. I experienced a peace of mind for the first time.

This story became a life mission. Since I told my experience of being molested as a child, my spoken voice has encouraged many men and women to speak up for themselves.

I wish I could share the private letters of love and praise in appreciation for writing and sharing my story.
