Stone says,
"It was a personal and professional nod from my peers not only for my potential, but for the dreams I had already fulfilled. This meant the world to me. It acknowledged all the unrecognized and unpublicized deeds that I've done spiritually, practically and
professionally. I received the award on behalf of the decades that I've dedicated to my work. Through my writing, I have focused on healing deep-seated emotional wounds suffered by young girls and women. I've stood diligently in the gap supporting my readers and my mentees through this work on abuse.

Most importantly, we have raised six contributing adults. It was hard being a young wife and mother to 6 children. I often felt stretched, bent and contorted into the leader and mother they needed me to be. It was a thankless and arduous task. Still, I did my best to be the nurturer, provider, doctor and guide for these young lives. I accepted this honorary doctorate for all the appreciation, acknowledgements and hugs that I never received. I know I deserve those affectionate accolades. But, I was content that they would never come.

Then this honorary doctorate opportunity was presented to me.
There are sacrifices that each of us has made that only we are aware of. This doctorate gave me the occasion to be openly recognized and honored. So, it is with great pleasure that I accept and shoulder this honorary degree as a personal thank you for the grace I've extended to myself, and offered to everyone else."
The goal of this workbook is to offer you some tools that will allow you to write the book you’d be proud to publish. Whether you publish traditionally or independently, you will leave a legacy.
